Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we receive most often about our ranges, kitchens, process and project guidance.

Yes. We welcome showroom visits and encourage them whenever possible. Seeing the collections in person offers a much deeper understanding of proportions, finishes, materials, and overall presence. Our team can also guide you through differences between collections and help determine the direction that best suits your project.

Prêt-à-Porter offers a curated selection of preconfigured compositions available with a more direct path to purchase. Bespoke begins from a blank page, allowing each detail to be tailored to the project, from dimensions and layout to finishes, trim, and configuration. Both are built to the same standard of craftsmanship; the difference is the level of customization and the design process behind it.

L’Atelier Paris is defined by true customization, refined French design language, and professional-grade performance built for real daily use. Unlike many luxury brands that offer limited preset options, we create compositions with far greater freedom in scale, finish, and specification. Our work is distinguished by timeless design, analog craftsmanship, spacious ovens, and a level of personalization that allows each piece to feel fully considered for the home it belongs to.

Project timelines depend on scope. Prêt-à-Porter offers the fastest path, while bespoke ranges and full kitchen projects require a longer lead time due to the level of customization involved. In general, full kitchen projects should be planned well in advance to allow time for design development, approvals, production, and installation coordination. Our team will guide the schedule clearly from the beginning of the process.

Our brand's soul is anchored in our custom-made cooking ranges, which serve as the starting point for all our offerings. Expanding from there, we provide matching appliances and complete, turn-key kitchen installations. Our capabilities include fine solid wood and stainless steel cabinets, seamlessly blending French design aesthetics with American functionality. Additionally, we offer custom woodwork that extends to closets and other home spaces. Each component of our comprehensive home solutions is meticulously crafted to elevate your home.

We offer an extensive range of materials and finishes across our collections, including painted finishes, metal finishes, trim options, and fully tailored combinations depending on the piece. Selections vary by product type and project scope, but the goal is always the same: to create a composition that feels fully resolved within the architecture and character of the home.

While our brand embodies a French-inspired aesthetic, rooted in our own wine estate in the Bordeaux region, the manufacturing locations are diverse to ensure the highest quality. Our cooking ranges and select metal cabinets are made right here in the United States, combining American ingenuity with European elegance. Our wooden cabinets are meticulously crafted in Europe, adhering to the same high standards that define our brand

Our color offerings are vast and versatile, featuring 213 standard RAL colors to align with any kitchen aesthetic. If you're seeking a truly customized look, our paint-to-sample program allows us to match any color you desire, effectively making your color options limitless. Our team is available to guide you through these extensive choices to ensure your vision comes to life.

Both La Provençal and La Grande offer the same level of quality and customization options, including sharing the same oven sizes. La Provençal has a depth of 650mm (26"), while La Grande extends to a depth of 800mm (31-1/2"). La Grande is equipped with true professional-grade cooking elements that meet the stringent standards you'd expect in a Michelin-
starred restaurant, taking your culinary experience to unparalleled heights.

Yes, we do offer induction cooking options. Induction technology brings unmatched precision and efficiency to your culinary experience. It allows for rapid, yet controlled, heat adjustments, making it easier to achieve perfect results, whether you're simmering a sauce or searing a steak. Induction cooking is ideal for those who desire a cooking range that also provides the precision demanded by professional chefs.

Absolutely, at L'Atelier Paris, we offer a versatile selection of electric cooking elements to ensure you don't have to compromise on functionality or performance when opting for an all-electric range. Choose from our set of 2 induction burners, single induction power burners, both smooth and grooved griddles, a multi-pasta cooker, and an electric charbroiler grill. Our ovens and warming cabinets are also electric, providing a complete and fully electric cooking experience. These options are available across both our La Provençal and La Grande lines, giving you unparalleled customization to create a cooking range that fits seamlessly into your lifestyle and needs.

Our burners are among the most powerful in the industry, designed to offer precise temperature control for a diverse range of cooking needs.

No. We exclusively offer electric ovens, engineered for performance, consistency,
and precision. We choose to focus on quality, ease of use, and most importantly, reliability. We believe that self-cleaning features can often be gimmicky and could compromise the long-term durability of the appliance. Our ovens are designed with analog controls and robust materials to stand the test of time, making them straightforward to maintain and clean.

Our oven is engendered in the USA specifically for the American market, and it's one of the largest sizes available in the industry. Its generous dimensions can accommodate large cookware and significant volumes of food, making it perfect for grand occasions like Thanksgiving. For specific dimensions, please refer to the product specifications on our website or contact our customer service team.

No, we do not offer gas ovens. Our decision is rooted in our commitment to providing an exceptional cooking experience. Gas ovens tend to have inconsistent temperature distribution, which could result in uneven cooking. They also introduce more moisture into the cooking environment, which can adversely affect the texture and quality of baked  goods. Furthermore, gas ovens may produce combustion byproducts, affecting indoor air quality. These limitations do not align with our dedication to excellence in every aspect of cooking.

A French Top is a specialized cooking surface designed for its versatile and even heat distribution. The center is the hottest area, making it ideal for slower, indirect styles of cooking. As you move towards the edges, the temperature gradually decreases, which is perfect for simmering or keeping pots warm without overcooking. This unique gradient of heat allows you to cook multiple items at once, each at its ideal temperature.

Yes, brushed stainless steel can show scratches over time with regular use, but many consider this to add to its unique patina and character. If you ever wish to refresh the appearance, the original look can be easily restored. Our brushed stainless steel can be resurfaced to its initial condition using a simple orbital sander technique, an option available through our specialized services.
